Describe what you do in 25 words or less.
I manage our social media accounts and create compelling digital content to build client relationships and drive our inbound marketing strategy.
How did you get started in your field?
A lot of extracurricular experience! While completing my undergraduate degree in Art History at Queen’s, I got involved in different marketing iniatives with groups on campus. I went on to complete a post graduate diploma in Marketing Management and knew the field was for me. I started working as the the Director of Communications with the Laurentian Student Association and a few other similiar roles that allowed me to flex my marketing skills. I couldn't be more excited to bring this knowledge to PrintFleet!
The most important lesson you’ve learned since you began your career.
I've learned that finding a career path is not always straightforward. I didn't take the traditional route to where I am now. There are always ways to gain experience and get where you want to go.
Your greatest strength.
Connecting with people. I love building relationships, and this plays hugely in my role connecting with audiences as a marketer.
What is your philosophy toward work?
Make the work you produce something you're extrodinarily proud of.
What technology trends are you most excited about?
I'm looking forward to the future of disruptive technologies like AI and IoT. It will be interesting to see how these impact our day to day. I'm also all for self-driving cars.
What do you like best about marketing?
The opportunity to work with amazing, intelligent people, and the fact that the industry is constantly changing. It’s never boring – there are always opportunities to learn, grow and endless ideas to cook up!
Your favourite pastime or hobby?
Yoga, horseback riding, hiking and camping with with my dog. Really, anything I can do with my dog.
Your favourite movie.
I'm more of a TV series girl. Game of Thrones, Narcos, HIMYM, Friends and Parks and Rec to name a few. I can't say no to a good action flick like James Bond or the classics Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Guilty pleasures: Beat Bobby Flay and anything on HGTV.
Favourite snack food(s).
Fresh blueberries or raspberries.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation would be fabulous. Who wouldn’t love to grab dinner in Italy and be back in time to catch SNL?
If time travel was possible, would you go back in time or to the future and why?
I'd definitely go back in time. Pay a visit to Michelangelo while he was painting the Sistine chapel, see a performance by the Rolling Stones, stop by the pyramids of Giza and other wonders of the world in all their glory, see Romeo and Juliet at the Globe. I think I may have been born in the wrong era.
